Where is Las Vegas?

If you have only a vague idea of where Las Vegas is, you are not alone in the world. Many people come here and really do not know exactly where they are! Part of the reason for this oddity is that Las Vegas is in a very narrow range, close to Utah, Arizona and California. People who do not have time in the Great American Southwest have spent even a clear idea of how these states are located.

From the east. With the mind's eye, see Interstate 15, which rises from northern Utah to the west side of the State concerned. Interstate 70 connects with him, all the way west of Maryland came to the Rockies. I-15 then the full path to the border with Nevada, Utah in the back, Nick is a little piece of Arizona to Mesquite and then at right angles to the southwest of Las Vegas - about 80 miles in advance.

Coming from the west. On the west coast, I-15begins in San Diego and directs Nordrhein-Westfalen (where I-10 is in Los Angeles), then north and east, the border of Nevada. The trip to Los Angeles is about 270 miles. How long it takes depends, of course, your starting point for your mood, the traffic and what type of car you drive. Four hours is nearly enough for most people.

The southern tip of Nevada is a triangle, top bottom. Arizona is located in south and east, west and southern California. Atop(South of Laughlin), you can be in Las Vegas in three states at once. Las is this triangle, west of Lake Meade, the Hoover Dam was built only from the great. Roughly speaking, Utah is located north of Lake Meade and Arizona extends east and south.

The route of I-15 across the triangle marks the natural fertile valley, which gave rise to Las Vegas on its behalf. To the north and east of the city is "North Las Vegas, near the entrance ofValley. To the south and east, about 20 miles away, "Henderson" at the southern entry point. Past Henderson Boulder, the town created by the workers of the Hoover Dam.

In the midst of the valley is the city proper, and from there south, the famous "Strip", otherwise known as Las Vegas Boulevard South. "Most of the Strip is located outside the city limits, in" Paradise " an unincorporated community in Clark County, which consist mainly of casinos and hotel resorts. Technically"Strip" Nevada is Route 91 as Interstate I-15 from the town and headed south to California, which follows the contours of the road was original and remains in view of the Strip.

Two U.S. roads (motorways) are in Las Vegas from northern Idaho (93) and north-west of Carson City and Reno (95). These two arteries are joined at a point to get around the city. Then separate again south of Henderson. 93 continues, Boulder and 95 goes southLaughlin. Binding these three north-south routes in an array of I-515 and Route 215 (that I-215). The first is a kind of transit center for the city and ends near Henderson. The second is a sort of ring road around the western and southern sides of town, past the airport (south of the Strip), and connect with I-515 near Henderson.

To the west is Red Rock Canyon and Summerlin, along with other luxury suburb. Spring Valley is located inWest and south.

If you come to Las Vegas from Arizona north through Nevada or Utah, or from offshore east of Los Angeles and San Diego in the West, or even from Mexico, 250 miles to the south or so, cross a desert. Most of this land is dry and warm. If there were sources of the valley, the city as the parched Mojave Desert, where it is placed.
